PLAY Cowichan aims to provide an avenue for interested partners to work together to promote, implement and evaluate programs, services, amenities and policy which advances physical literacy in the Cowichan region.

This group wants to ensure that all initiatives contribute to and complement local, provincial and national Sport for Life and physical literacy strategies. They will examine funding sources, preparing and applying for grants, and determine way to economically implement physical literacy strategies into the community. Then they will assess ways to introduce enriched programs to the region.

Ultimately the community would like to see a raised awareness of physical literacy reach parents, coaches and teachers. They want to see leaders with consistent training implementing programs and altering environments to encourage activities, with the goal of keeping children and adults active for life.
