Keynote panel for 2020 Sport for Life Canadian Summit celebrates success

Sport for Life has named one of its keynote panels for the 2020 Sport for Life Canadian Summit, bringing together three of the leading voices in the physical literacy and quality sport movements to speak on the theme of Celebrating Success.

Fabrice Vil of Pour 3 Points, Tanya Mruck of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE), and Robert Bettauer of the Pacific Institute of Sport Excellence (PISE) will participate in a community engagement session that will highlight exciting developments while also looking to the future.

“For those of us who have been on the frontlines of the Sport for Life movement for many years, it may seem quite easy to point out ongoing challenges. But for our upcoming Summit we want to really celebrate by reflecting on how far we’ve come, and trumpeting the successes of quality programs and the people leading the way,” said CEO Richard Way.

“Fabrice Vil, Tanya Mruck and Robert Bettauer are all changemakers who have stories about what we’re doing right as Canadians, and during their panel they will provide us with keen insights into how to make a difference in communities based on delivering quality sport programs and developing physical literacy. The lessons learned will help delegates mobilize innovative physical literacy and quality sport initiatives when they return to organizations from all around the globe.”

Vil is a basketball coach and the founder of Pour 3 Points, an organization that transforms the role of sport coaches so they can also function as life coaches for disadvantaged youth. Mruck is a community builder and sport advocate currently working as the executive director of MLSE Foundation, as well as its flagship investment MLSE Launchpad. Bettauer is the CEO of PISE, an innovative multi-sport facility in Victoria, and has worked previously in a number of roles at organizations such as Tennis Canada. With radically different backgrounds and perspectives, they’re bound to have insights that will impact Summit delegates.

During the Summit, there will be a number of other prominent figures within the movement who will be sharing with the conference as keynotes and appearing on panels. Announcements about these keynotes are coming soon.

The Summit will be held in Gatineau, Quebec from January 28 to 30, 2020. Registration is now open. For more information visit sportforlifesummit.ca.
